Daily Journal January 26, 1998, William Thomas Thompson. The word of God is food for our soul, read it daily. Another Monday morning with more on my mind to do but I must follow procedure to pray and exercise before I eat and start the work day. How should we pray? Jesus teaches us how to pray. King David of Israel wrote a most beautiful prayer and we can recite it, Psalm 23-"The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2-He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: He leadeth me beside still waters. 3-He restoreth my soul: He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. 4-Yea,though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: For thou art with me; Thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. 5-Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of my enemies; Thou anointest my head with oil: My cup runneth over. 6-Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: And I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever". This is my prayer. What joy it brings because it is the bread of life. I am waiting this morning for the day worker to come and fix a small area of roof that leaks over the patio room, it always has and we have fixed it before but this time I want to see after it to make sure it is fixed right. We have at least 2 areas of flat roofs that give trouble like most flat roofs do it seems all my adult life. On the dairy farm growing up, we had tin roofs on all the out buildings and this may have proven to be the best type. We live by faith in God. Let us put Him first to behold. I feel stress when the worker does not come because it is very clear weather and warm today but the T.V. shows rain tonight. They show rain over and over, what a waste of my time looking or listening to T.V. and all those commercials they impose on us. It is a trial to sit here writing when I need to be working on that roof but I must control myself, my emotion. At least I am getting my journal written. Jay Leno came on last night about midnight special to tell Clinton jokes. He said "they were going to rename the oval office, the oral office, That she had more than a foot in her mouth". I say again, God Almighty deplores sodomy more than regular sin and I believe He will judge quickly this awful thing if it be true. Why would anybody indulge in such an unnatural thing so filthy and so disgusting as oral sex, I cannot imagine any human being so low, I hope and pray its not true and let me state that I am not accusing him of this, I donot know. Pray daily for it is a direct line to Almighty God. I say idolatry is the 26th reason America will fail. The worship of idols is a sin that brings sudden and total judgment of God! The worship of Mary is idolatry. The worship of so called saints is idolatry. The worship of the almighty dollar is idolatry. Lots of people I believe is into idolatry because it is not described by the average clergy of today. The worship of any image is idolatry. The worship of a priest is idolatry. Worship of self is also idolatry. Let us worship God alone and depend on Him only. No image should have any place in our home or office. Be free of all substitutes for God. Seek, find and know God personally. Meditate on the Lord and He will bless you. "Let us be content in what ever state we are in" The Apostle Paul said in his writing to the New Testament Christians, Let it be so. We are a lost and dying people hopelessly. I am hooked on the very first page talking about the "words of art or art language, "beauty the highest form of righteousness", "that beauty is a moral necessity". The first pages are like a mountain of great art history of art as a visual Bible, it says the things I have thought from the first of my painting art days.
