February 22, 2007 journal, 700 Club reveals the danger in MSG as preservative flavoring Now in most all of our processed foods, in Campbell Soup and most all restaurant foods. It causes a special kind of fat in the belly and is blamed for most of our two-thirds obesity rate in America today. There is big untold damage attributed to mono sodium glutamate. How can you be sure you are not getting it, buy organic foods and prepare them yourself. I quote from the 700 Club show report on MSG "The hidden danger in your food. (They are killing us)"The Hidden Dangers in our Food-by Gailon Totheroh, CBN News Science and medical reporter February 21, 2007, Jackson Mississippi-MSG has been a public buzzwords since it was taken out of baby foods in the late-60s, but most people don't know that its in literally thousands of different processed food even under hidden names. (Natural flavoring the most common) and now, science is showing us that it could be a big part of what is making us so fat. See Pat Roberson comments concerning the Silent killer MSG, by clicking play. Think you are not eating MSG? Many foods at Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, and McDonnell's have it. Wonder what the colonel's secret ingredient was? MSG. Oh, you don't eat fast food? Even classy restaurants throw in some. Oh, you don't eat out? Sorry, your grocery is loaded with MSG to, and school cafeterias are just as bad. Well, at least your baby is safe, guess again, almost all infant formulas are loaded with it. CBN News report: how to find MSG in your food. Dr. Russell Blaylock has studied the common flavor enhancers that many experts believe are hazardous to your health. He calls them excititoxins-the taste that kills. He says we're more exposed to them than you realize. (not to mention butter flavoring in popcorn and margarine causing lung disease) One of the misconceptions is that, well, I don't eat Chinese food, so I'm not really exposed to MSG, Blaylock said. "Well, if you look at almost all processed foods, the vast majority of them have one or more forms of this high glutamate content in it". Since the 1950's, the Food and Drug administration has considered MSG safe so they have not changed their position despite a large volume of research-especially in the past 2 years. In other words, the government currently has no restrictions on warnings on MSG. Yes, numerous scient-ists from around the world have repeatedly confirmed that glutamate to cause a range of problems in animals-including obesity. But those who say MSG is safe argue that people don't consume as much MSG as animals in experiments, so they say people do not face glutamate damage. Blaylock says that's not so. "These foods, particularly in a child are certainly of a dose equal to what you are seeing in animals, the thing that's peculiar about the child-they're 4 times more sensitive than an adult. And adults themselves or about 5 times more sensitive than the most glutamate sensitivity in the mouse. What that means is when people consume MSG, their blood levels of glutamate rise much faster and stay in the blood much longer than any other creature. The result is that humans are more easily to reach toxic levels of glutamate. The babies in the wound and young children up to age 3 are the most threatened. And expectant mothers may need to be mindful of their diets and when the babies born, mothers should watch out for what is in their formulas. Nearly all formulas contain high levels of highly processed milk and soy protein. The processing down those 2 proteins, releasing high levels of glutamate and aspartate. Both are excititoxic. An unprotected part of the brain can then be damaged. The damage can primarily damage its ability to control obesity. As children grow up they do become less susceptible to MSG damage, but still very susceptible to obesity that is hard to get rid of. Ultimately, science indicates all ages-in varying degrees can face this type of obesity."ct.
