March 20, 2007 journal, the colorful apocalypse book by Greg bottoms is a fraud printed by the Chicago University Press with 181 pages of distorted text with no pictures of our paintings. My space has 62 pages and Norbert Kox has 55 pages by the author. Together we are two-thirds of the book and I estimate there are 500 distortions in the book which attacks our Christianity. I have registered my complaint with the Chicago publisher today for the second time after they agreed to review the discrepances. My position is that they should pull down the book first since they are informed of the major discrepancies and of willful distortions even reversing the truth, false quotations. I accused the author of being a schizophrenic. In speaking with my friend Norbert today about sending them the most obvious diversion the author made saying the 666 Roman Numeral figures on the painting Idolatry did not add up but to 106 and he will send the publisher a close-up of this part of the painting to prove that it does when applied to the Latin on the Popes metal crown. We realized for the first time that I had mailed them the digital image of the painting on the front cover and they chopped off the left hand side of the painting which would have proved the author to be a liar on the cover of the book. Now the case is one of fraud & conspiracy involving the printer publisher which deliberately chopped off this evidence. In the book the author declares the painting invalid by the numbers not adding up to 666. They do of course add up to 666 and it is in plain view and he lied about this in his book. My intent now is to ask for equal time to counteract these distortions and accusations to discredit the ministry of my art and his art. I have already informed Chicago University Press that a rebuttal would require another book to be printed to state our case and show our art and I suggested it be called 'Answer to the Colorful Apocalypse'. The painting of Idolatry is chopped up and obscured on the front page of The Colorful Apocalypse book It is a collaboration between Norbert H. Cox and William Thomas Thompson acrylic on canvas 7 by 9.5 ft. tall and had shown at American Visionary Art Museum in Baltimore. It has been published also in Raw Vision Magazine of London & at Folk Fest in Atlanta. The painting idolatry challenges the modern church on the issue of idolatry worship like the Catholic Church practices. The Protestant church is also guilty of idolatry and today the Christian right has been referred to as the Antichrist. This is the cutthroat world of desperate people. We are treating the Mexican people like animals even thought they come here and work like dogs on 3 jobs for half what Americans make as a general rule. Houses already cost $250,000 with more than 50 percent Mexican labor being figured in. The Los Angeles Times did a review on Sunday of the book titled Colorful Apocalypse. They skipped over most of the details and mixed it with other book reviews and it was hardly noticed. I do believe we will get a full-color book printed as equal time to tell our side of the story and to refute the lies of the author. People cannot print lies about you if you could bring them to justice. It is only my concern to get the truth out. Truth is rare. Dear Susan-Allow me to introduce myself to you as a reasonable person with a loving family which I do not want to lose along with the other damage. I feel lead to take a day off from sounding charges and let the dust settle from the ugly mess this has created that is robbing me of my sleep an increasing my stress. We are not the monster artists insane like Greg has painted in his book and my friend Norbert attacked falsely describing his clothes as shabby infuriates me but I must focus on all the many facts in the case. Your participation in this slanderous book seems out of character and shameful for the Chicago University Press and the writings in the book are definitely out of character for us. I do not believe you want to be a part of a book of lies written by a jerk not considering legal. They say World War One was started by the lack of communication. We are reasonable everyday people accustomed to making our living honestly by God's grace and I know my friend Norbert is the greatest person. We are not deserving of this vicious assault on our character and ambush by a berserk writer stabbing us in the back and fabricating his own biased stories. However, it behooves me to say, let us negotiate a settlement not that the damage already done is not severe. I had just as soon see our work published fairly with out any mention of Greg Bottoms. I have still not received a copy of the book. You have the printable image of the cover I sent directly to Anthony and he confirmed he still has it. I suggest you enlarge it into print to 3 or 4 feet and you will clearly see that Greg Bottoms lied in saying the Roman Numerals do not add up to 666 from the Latin. It seems you do want to know the truth and Norbert is sending you an illustration on this. It occurred to us yesterday that the left side of the painting was deliberately chopped off so that a reader would not see that the author is lying. I cannot imagine the Chicago University Press being a party to such mischief to distort the truth and to harm the artists. The original painting is 7 by 10 feet. There is no way Bottoms could have been mistaken. I will never concede to allow this comedy of lies to continue and this day of grace does not in any way alter the demand for equal time in publication to correct the damage to present our side. It is better to reach an agreement to correct the future and to rein in this berserk writer with a vendetta trying to drag us all into the pit with him and his brother.
